We are proud to present that Peter, the head architect of our Studio has received the Miklós Ybl Prize, which is one of the most prestigious professional awards. He received the recognition for his outstanding, individual, independently designed architectural creative activity over the past fifteen years. The official ceremony was held in the Grand Hall of Pesti Vigadó on 16 December, 2023.
Here is a short quote from the laudation:
„Peter Bordás, as the head architect of BORD Architectural Studio strives to create such extraordinary places where it is good to stay, where the environment is relaxing, recharging and encouraging creativity. His creative ideas provide solutions for the problems of the broader urban fabric and the direct environment of the locations as well. He enjoys constructing his projects around a storyline which give his buildings a unique character.
Among his finished concepts the most significant ones are the Etyeki Kúria Winery, the reconstruction of the Lónyay-Hatvany Villa in the Buda Castle, the Sauska Winery in Mád, and his Debrecen projects: the Nagyerdei Stadium, the International School, the Innovation Centre and the Aquaticum Water Park.
In 2017 he established a Prize called DECODE, which was a great step towards the architectural community. This award aims to put such valuable artistic projects into the spotlight that are inspired by unusual and exciting ideas. DECODE aims to draw attention to the young contemporary artists’ and architects’ projects and to enhance the connection between creator and observer.”
