Ybl Miklós Prize

We are proud to announce that Peter, the lead architect of our studio has been awarded the Miklós Ybl Prize, one of the most prestigious professional honors. He received the recognition for his outstanding, independent, architectural work over the past fifteen years. The official award ceremony was held in the Grand Hall of Pesti Vigadó on 16 December, 2023.
„As the head architect of BORD Architectural Studio, Peter Bordas strives to create exceptional spaces that offer a sense of well-being, environments that are calming, rejuvenating, and inspire creativity. His innovative concepts provide solutions not only for the immediate surroundings of his projects but also for the broader urban fabric. He often builds his designs around a compelling narrative, giving his buildings a distinctive character.
Among his most significant completed works are the Etyeki Kúria Winery, the reconstruction of the Lónyay-Hatvany Villa in Buda Castle, the Sauska Tokaj winery in Mád, and several landmark projects in Debrecen, including the Nagyerdei Stadium, the International School, the Innovation Centre and the Aquaticum Water Park.
In 2017, he made a significant contribution to the architectural community by establishing the DECODE Prize. This award highlights outstanding artistic projects driven by unique and thought-provoking ideas, emphasizing the creative process. DECODE aims to bring attention to the work of young contemporary architects and artists while fostering a meaningful connection between creator and audience.” – excerpt from the laudation.
