Tamás Tolvaj

Tamás graduated from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2003, and started working for Zoboki-Demeter and Partners Architectural Studio. Tamás started to get more involved with BORD Architectural Studio in 2007, he was the project manager of designing HOLDVÖLGY (MOON VALLEY) in Mád and the Visitor Centre of Korda Studios. Due to his excellent problem solving skills and complex thinking he shortly became the right-hand of Péter in design competitions for many years. One of their early design projects  was the international competition for designing the Warsaw Concert Hall which earned an honorable mention. Tamás is  also an expert in IT so for many years he was the IT manager of the office as well as an architectural project leader. His colleagues gave him the nickname: “Houston” as a reference to the movie Apollo 13 which duly represents his significant role in the team.

In 2017 he moved to Zurich to establish the Swiss office of BORD Studio together with Péter. As the manager of Bordstudio GmbH he has worked on several Swiss residential park projects while carrying on with the international design competitions as a member of the Hungarian team.  At the moment he is leading one of the Hungarian improvements of Sensirion. His logical, analythical, complex thinking makes him indispensable.

As living in Switzerland, he can enjoy his favorite hobby: hiking. He adores the Swiss mountains and forests, nature in general. He likes long walks, that inspire and relax him.
